Another month is coming to an end! If you are worried that SUMMER IS OVER, just remember that the Fall Equinox isn’t until September 23. Here’s how I am soaking up the last of summer and preparing myself for a delightful fall… Remember, if you aren’t on my email list, you can join here.
Here are my highlights this week:
Perhaps you are amazed at how many show recommendations I have for you? I love a good show and often watch an episode or two while eating lunch (#workfromhomelife). I discovered this show on Hulu this week and am HOOKED. For fans of Weeds, this is a MUST. Mary is a Doctor with a side hustle… (HINT - it involves Pentobarbital… which I had to google to spell and now the authorities probably think I am trying to track down the substance. Sigh…)
I’ve gotten into the habit of calling Mia a “Mini-Muffin.” Apparently all of that subconscious programming got my really wanting real muffins. It’s also PEAK PEACH season here in Colorado. I went to one of my go-to bloggers, Sprouted Kitchen, and found an easy, gluten-free muffin recipe. I whipped these up in 20 minutes, then promptly ate two. I subbed the flour mix for 1 ½ cup + 1 tbsp all-purpose gluten free flour. I also subbed the yogurt for Kite Hill almond yogurt. They turned out perfectly.

The slight hint of fall in the air has me craving grounding foods. Golden milk is an ancient Ayurvedic drink made of turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, coconut oil and/or butter. You can dress it up or down and enjoy it hot, cold or even blended. I make a big batch of Golden Milk Paste from Minimalist Baker.
Even Mia likes Golden Milk!
Golden milk helps calm your nervous system, aides in sleep and reduces inflammation thanks to the power of Turmeric.
Having paste on hand makes it quick and easy for me to enjoy Golden Milk each night before bed. Here’s how I make mine:
1.4 tsp Golden Milk paste
1 tbsp coconut butter
1 scoop collagen peptides
½ tsp honey
10-12 oz hot water
Blend and enjoy!
*Alternatively, you can just blend the paste with your favorite milk
I went to West Elm to get a few things to freshen up my living room (full reveal coming next week)! I found the cutest LAMP and it brings me so much joy! I also got a simple glass jar to fill with my sea shells.
Over the years, I’ve collected many sea shells, but stored them in a drawer in my room. I finally found a beautiful way to display them. Sometimes small, simple changes open you up unexpected joy. These design changes remind me that changing up your space helps shake up your mood as well.
