Happy Weekend! This week I became aware of my need to ask for help! Have you ever noticed yourself continually saying “yes” and taking on projects until you just can’t anymore? Looking into the next few months, I knew I needed to ask for help so I could thrive and offer my best. I wrote more about in in my newsletter - you can join here.
Here are my highlights this week:
I’ve mentioned The Four Agreements in previous posts. I continue to read this book and keep pausing to take in the messages. They are both very simple and profound. Life lessons if you will. This week I posted the following excerpt on my Instagram Stories:
“We make the assumption that everyone sees life the way we do. We assume others think the way we think, feel the way we feel, judge the way we judge and abuse the way we abuse. This is the biggest assumption that humans make.
And this is why we have a fear of being ourselves around others. Because we think everyone else will judge use, victimize us, abuse us, and blame us as we do ourselves. So even before others have a chance to reject us, we have already rejected ourselves.”
Ok, this is probably the craziest thing I’ve made. I used my ever-favorite Cook Once, Eat All Week Book and chose a week with Plantains, Kale and Shredded Pork.
To make Plantain Pizza Crust, you add 4 green-ish plantains to the food processor with ¼ melted coconut oil. Then you puree it, spread it thin like pizza crusts on a silt-pat and bake for 20 minutes until golden. You can then add toppings or save to use later in the week. We were very impressed!
All I can say is that this show is SO GREAT. My brother got John and my into in. Then we had Zach and Lauren watch it, and everyone loves it. OH and my favorite pod-caster, Jess Lively loves Brad too! He’s cooky and makes fun foods on camera on the Bon Appetit YouTube channel. Do yourself a favor and watch at least two episodes before deciding if you like it. It’s just FUN and light hearted, which is such a treat these days. Watch it here!
I was on the hunt for a new living room chair for a while. I finally found the perfect one at West Elm. The color is “blush” and it makes me feel fancy! The good thing is it is comfortable and cute! Also, John has yet to sit in it. I’ve turned this into my morning work space before heading into my office for the day. Happy happy happy!
